Russian Poljot marine chronometer.
In 1763 Ferdinand Berthoud and Charles Camus went to London to examine John Harrison's marine chronometers. While they were there, they met the astronomer Jerome Lalande, who kept a diary of his trip to England. This article examines these events. It was published in the NAWCC Bulletin, December 2005.
