Watchmaking By Machinery
In about 1893-94, Cassell & Co. published "The New Technical Educator", which included a 21-part series "Watch and Clock Making" by David Glasgow.
The first 19 parts consist of an edited version of Glasgow's book with the same title (which had been published by Cassell & Co. in 1885). However, parts 20 and 21, on turret clocks and watchmaking by machinery, are new.
Although a minor contribution to our understanding of watch manufacturing, Glasgow's opinions on English watchmaking are worth reading.
I want to thank Paul Middents for bringing this to my attention.
